
Jinja Tours and Nile River
Itinerary for Jinja City Tour
We will start this tour bright and early (8:15am) at the Source Café in downtown Jinja for some of the best coffee in Uganda and the traditional Ugandan Rolex.
We will depart promptly at 9am for Sezibwa Falls, a beautiful relaxing waterfall on the Nile. Where we will enjoy a guided tour and get some great photo opportunities of the scenic landscape.
Next we will head to Mabira Forest where we will experience Uganda’s largest Rainforest and observe various species of monkeys, birds and lush flora. As an option and at an additional cost, there are some amazing zip line opportunities.
Next we will depart for Lugazi for a quick 15 minute stop for photos of the massive sugarcane and tea plantations.
Back to Jinja and specially prepared lunch at the Source Café. After lunch you are free to explore the main street in downtown Jinja and shop for souvenirs.
Meet back at Source Café for the continuation of the tour. For this part of the tour we will visit the Historic Uganda Railway Station, Jinja Central Market, Busoga Kingdom (Igange Palace) and the Mahatma Gandi Monument.
Next we will head for a relaxing and scenic boat ride to the Source of the Nile River where Lake Victoria meets the Nile. Enjoy provided refreshments as you take in the scenic views of many bird species, otters, monitor lizards, and vegetation.
After the Nile River tour we will end up at the Jinja Sailing Club for an optional sunset dinner with views over Lake Victoria. If you have not selected the Jinja Sailing Club dinner we take you back to downtown Jinja or if your accommodations are in Jinja we will take you there.
